Tile Installation Tips
No matter the type of flooring that is being installed, we always recommend professional installation. When professionals install your floors, you can trust that they have experience, and your floors will be backed by our warranty. Before every installation, our installers will do a moisture test in those areas to determine what type of tile would be right for that space.
There are types of tiles, like stone and porcelain, which can handle moisture better than ceramic tile. You want to install a tile that is resistant to moisture in places like your bathroom and even kitchen, to prevent any unwanted damage. When you first speak with our flooring professionals, they can help you to determine the best tile for your project.
Where can Tile be Installed?
If you really wanted to, you could install tile in every room of your home. That would get expensive though, and seems somewhat impractical, but that is an example of just how versatile tile flooring is. Places that tile does look best in include kitchens and bathrooms, which are the most common rooms you find tile because of its durability and resistance to moisture. Other places you could install tile in include laundry rooms and even basements.
If you are not looking for flooring, ceramic tiles can be installed on your walls as wall tile or as a backsplash. Backsplash tile adds a pop of style to an otherwise dull looking wall. They are easy to clean just like tile flooring, and are a cost effective way to update your space.
Tile in your bathroom can go a long way, but be sure to design your space with a look that makes sense. For example, you can have tile flooring, a tile shower, and tile backsplash in your bathroom, but that would be too much. We recommend styling your bathroom where the tile in the shower and floor complement each other. You can also use mosaic tile in your shower and accent it with a backsplash accent behind your sink.
Tile is a great product to have in your kitchen. Tiles are durable, moisture, heat and wear resistant making it the perfect option for kitchen floors. It is hard to avoid making a mess in your kitchen, but tile floors make cleaning up a breeze, and some tiles that are glazed feature stain resistance. Make tile floors more comfortable to stand on by adding area rugs and mats.
